The Physical Abilities Requirement Evaluation (PARE) is an occupational test used to assess a person's ability to perform the physical demands of police and law enforcement work, namely: running, jumping, climbing stairs, vaulting, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling. It is used in the selection process for RCMP (Royal Canadian Mounted Police) and CBSA (Canada Border Services Agency).

You will be provided a signed, dated PARE CERTIFICATE of RESULTS once you have successfully completed the testing. Retain this form and provide it when needed in his/her recruiting process with the agency/service requiring your PARE results.
Please arrive 1/2 hour prior to testing to process your registration and verify your identification.

The Fitness Test for Ontario Correctional Officers, (FITCO) is a credible occupational test used to assess a person's ability to perform the physical demands of correctional officer.
There are four separate components to the FITCO test: a screening component to ensure your medical readiness and three performance components to assess your physical capability: search station, emergency response circuit and the aerobic shuttle run.
You will be provided a signed, dated FITCO CERTIFICATE of RESULTS once you have successfully completed the testing. Retain this form and provide it when needed in his/her recruiting process with the agency/service requiring your FITCO results.

The Comprehensive Fitness Assessment (CFA) is a thorough evaluation of your physical fitness, examining each key component of fitness. The results from this assessment can serve as the foundation for tailoring a personalized exercise program that optimizes your fitness journey. During the CFA, the following components will be tested:
1. Anthropometrics
2. "In-Body" Body Composition Assessment
3. Aerobic Fitness** (bike or treadmill)
4. Muscular Strength and Power
5. Muscular Endurance
6. Flexibility
7. Balance
** Based on the preliminary prescreening data, the exercise professional will choose whether to perform a maximal or submaximal assessment.


VO2 Max Testing

This test will determine your maximal aerobic capacity (VO2max) which represents the ability of your body to uptake and utilize oxygen during maximal exercise. A metabolic cart will be used to take a direct measurement of oxygen consumption while exercising on a stationary bike or treadmill. Your heart rate will also be monitored during the test. The results of your test can be used to determine training intensities and track improvements in aerobic fitness.

The InBody 570 uses an 8-point contact and multifrequency system offering a valid and reliable form of Bioimpedence Spectroscopy (BIS). This test only takes 45 seconds to complete and provides a detailed body composition analysis. Submaximal Aerobic Fitness Test

This test will estimate your aerobic fitness. You will be required to exercise at a moderate to vigorous exertion on a stationary bike, treadmill, or step. Your heart rate will be monitored during the test and used to predict your estimated (VO2max). Results can be utilized to track improvements and determine training intensities.


Body Composition - ISAK Restricted Profile

This assessment is completed by an ISAK trained and certified anthropometrist and includes 21 measurements - basic anthropometric measurements, skinfold caliper sites, body girth measurements, and bone breadth measurements. This assessment is completed by an ISAK trained and certified anthropometrist and includes 21 measurements - basic anthropometric measurements, skinfold caliper sites, body girth measurements, and bone breadth measurements. Reporting will produce a compartment body composition of estimated total muscle mass, bone mass, residual mass, and adipose mass. Along with somatotyping, BMI, Waist/Hip Ratio, Waist/Stature Ratio, and Sum of 8 and 6 skinfolds.

This type of assessment is recommended is of interest to those looking for a body composition baseline, or to monitor and track changes over time to support lifestyle, behaviour, and fitness goals. Minimal preparation is required. Please avoid exercising up to four hours before completing this assessment to allow for the most reliable results.
